Title V Major Source Air Quality Operating Permit

Three Forks, MT

EarthTech Environmental completed a renewal application for a Title V Major Source Air Quality Operating Permit for an industrial minerals processing facility. EarthTech identified opportunities for the client to reduce permitted emissions by over 80%, which will allow the client to avoid regulation under three federal air quality programs required for major sources of air pollution.


Mineral Processing Facility Closure Studies

Ludlow, VT; Houston, TX; Three Forks, MT

EarthTech Environmental completed closure studies for four industrial minerals processing facilities. The projects included summarizing baseline environmental data and characteristics of the operations, identifying aspects and impacts of closure, developing strategies to minimize impacts, identifying anticipated costs, and developing closure management plans to achieve identified goals. The completed studies ensure that environmental and social impacts are given adequate consideration in the closure planning process and allow the client to ensure adequate financial provisions are made to mitigate impacts and successfully rehabilitate the sites at the end of their useful lives.


Mine Closure Studies

Ludlow, VT; Timmins, Ontario

EarthTech Environmental completed closure studies for four industrial minerals mines. The mine sites included open pits and underground workings, waste rock dumps, a flotation plant and a tailings impoundment. The projects included summarizing baseline environmental data and characteristics of the operations, reviewing the adequacy of permitted reclamation plans, identifying aspects and impacts of closure, developing strategies to minimize impacts, identifying anticipated costs, and developing closure management plans to achieve identified goals. The completed studies ensure that environmental and social impacts are given adequate consideration in the closure planning process and allow the client to ensure adequate financial provisions are made to mitigate impacts and successfully rehabilitate the sites when ore resources are depleted.


Phase I Environmental Site Assessment

Bigfork, MT

EarthTech Environmental completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of a commercial property for a real estate transaction. Project included conducting a site inspection, interviews, regulatory review, assessment of topographical and hydrogeological conditions, and an investigation of historical uses of the site to identify known environmental conditions associated with the property. The completed ESA provided the client with due diligence protection from liability for any pre-existing soil or groundwater contamination associated with the property under CERCLA (Superfund) regulations.
